Imperial Gardens Apartments
Brosnan has leveraged extensive experience and creative thinking into an innovative, bespoke solution to challenges of a tricky Auckland CBD site.
The Imperial Gardens Apartments is a 275 apartment, 12 storey building on Hobson Street in Auckland’s CBD. Brosnan exterior work involved a full façade replacement with a new curtain wall, full uplifting of existing horizontal membranes and replacement of tiling systems. Interior work on the project included upgrading finishes, such as carpets and utility services including water systems and fire protection.
The project team developed an innovative solution to overcome the challenge of working in a major street and handle materials for site: adding a custom, temporary structural steel frame to the roof to mount a lightweight crane for both horizontal and vertical lifting. This will allowed materials from the busy street onto the site without the need for a tower crane and the disruptions to the road which come with it.
